Transitional Housing

We offer newly arrived people seeking refugee protection the stability of supportive, transitional housing for up to three months.

During this supported time, residents can begin to get the documents they need, orient themselves to the city, build a relational network, find community resources and search for permanent housing. When residents transition out of Kinbrace into permanent housing, they create space for the next individual or family to move in.

We continue to support claimants who move to permanent housing.

Extend Hospitality

It currently takes 1-6 months, on average, from the time of arrival until the refugee hearing. With safe, affordable housing in place, people in Canada’s refugee protection system can focus on documenting and developing their claims for protection.
